Hi, I'm Emily and I have recently graduated from the University of South Wales with a degree in BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion. I've been living in Cardiff whilst doing my degree for the last 3 years, but I am originally from London, and will be moving back there this July.
I have learnt a lot over my last 3 years at university, and developed a great passion for different aspects of my course, particularly in creative direction and magazine development. I really enjoyed my Final Major Project over the last few months, where I created my own fashion and feminist magazine from scratch - Lemon Magazine. This helped me practice a lot of skills such as creative direction and layout design, and I learnt a lot about the trials and tribulations of creating a magazine. The creation of Lemon Magazine has confirmed that working somewhere in a fashion magazine is a definite career path I'd love to go into in the future.
I also love event production and would love to be involved in more fashion events in the future. I volunteered at Graduate Fashion Week in 2017 and was involved a lot in the organisation of the catwalks taking place throughout the day. I helped set up the catwalks for the different shows and had an important role in seating the guests and making sure everyone was in their designated areas, such as the Press and VIPS.
I also interned at Bright Light PR, London, for 3 weeks in 2017, which improved my skills in PR and communication greatly, and has also helped me a lot in some aspects of my degree.
